WHO ARE WE? In August 2001, a group of area residents concerned about the lengthy response time of 45-60 minutes for emergency medical services out of Cañon City formed Northwest Fremont EMS, Inc. Our service area encompasses approximately 220 square miles in rural Fremont County, Colorado. We provide emergency medical and trauma care to residents, travelers and visitors to this area. Volunteers have been trained in the areas of First Aid/CPR, Ambulance drivers, First Responders, and Emergency Medical Technicians (Basic and Paramedic). We have two fully equipped ambulances, one is equipped for Advanced Life Support and the other for Basic Life Support, as well as jaws-of-life extrication equipment. Lives have been saved because the average response time to emergencies in our area has been reduced to less than 15 minutes. Northwest Fremont EMS, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. We are primarily supported through the generous donations of area residents and visitors, grants, and an annual fundraiser. We are extremely grateful for everyone's support - we cannot do this without you. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! THE FUTURE The number one priority of Northwest Fremont, Inc. is to provide prompt emergency medical services. We will continue to provide First Aid/CPR training for area residents plus on-going continuing education for all of our volunteers. |
