What’s required

 

1

Ambulance Driver Approx. 20 hours of training

Clean Colorado drivers license
AHA CPR certification
AHA first aid certification
Ambulance driver training 

2

First Responder Approx. 60 hours of training

Items above plus 50 hours of classroom training in trauma, first aid and safety.

EMT-B Approx. 118 hours of training

Items in #1 plus 110 hours of classroom training as well as 10 hours of clinical experience. Training is in trauma, first aid, medical, and safety.

EMT-B+ Approx. 140 hours of training

Items in #3 plus additional 12 hours of classroom training and additional 8 hours of clinical training in shock and fluid resuscitation, and acid base balance.

EMT-I Approx. 220 hours of training

Items in #4 plus additional 38 hours in cardiology 20 hours of pharmacology and additional clinical times to include OR and ED.

6

EMT-P Approx. 6 semester credits

Items in #1 plus Biology 101& 201, anatomy, physiology, psychology, microbiology, cardiology, pharmacology, 12 lead EKG recognition, pediatric, geriatric. 250 hours ED clinical, 250 hours defined clinical.

500 hours internship.
